Emily Irene VanCamp who initially wanted to become professional dancer was drawn in acting when she visited her sister Katie on the set of the movie Ladies Room. She started taking acting classes. She also got roles as a guest on a TV show in her native Canada. She has appeared in many programs, including Are You Afraid Of The Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp had a big breakthrough in his career after being cast in Glory Days, the WB Mystery Horror show. Although the show received positive reviews, its low rating led to it being cancelled after just nine episodes. Despite her May 12th 1986 birth date she was offered an appearance on Everwood with the character Amy Abbott. The role she played in the film earned her 4 Teen Choice Awards nominations and the Young Artist Award.
